We have been asked by the Emergency Management Officer at Dorset County Council to pass on to you the following message.

  Due to the recent flooding events there may be a risk of groundwater flooding in your Communities, although the rainfall has decreased over the last few days groundwater may still take quite a considerable time to appear.

 Dorset County Council and the Borough and Districts along with the Emergency Services have formed a group to advise and guide you in the event of an emergency in your area.

Winter grants

Do you know someone who might need this?

2013/2014 SURVIVING WINTER GRANTS

Are you an older person who spends on average 10% of your income on fuel during the cold winter months?

Do you need additional support to heat your home and eat properly in the cold weather?
 

A Surviving Winter grant may help.  You must live in Dorset to apply. 

A grant of £200 could assist you with:

 

· Paying your fuel bill

· Purchasing oil

· Purchasing an oil heater

· Purchase of coal

· Topping up your electricity

· Purchasing a pair of warm slippers and a blanket

 

We may also consider applications from individuals in need who are disabled or suffering extreme hardship.

Christmas 2013

Alan seems a little alarmed by the donkey.

We had two lovely children's services on Christmas Eve - in Winterborne Whitechurch and Winterborne Stickland. Alan would like to thank everyone (- including the music group and Awesome cakers) who made the services such a success. 

Those of you who tramped through the woods to St Catherine's Chapel on Christmas Eve were not disappointed. There was a wonderful atmosphere with the music and the candle light. Many thanks to the singers for all their hard work.
