Starting from Scratch - Youth work


 Starting from Scratch


We are building stronger links between Dunbury Academy and our churches and would love more people to come forward with ideas and offers of help. There is a course being run in Dorchester that might inspire some of you to have a go. I am booking a place for the 24th June - how about coming along?

PARISH TRAINING:
‘Starting from scratch’ – building children’s and youth ministry



 
Intended Audience:
Clergy, LLMs, LPA’s, churchwardens, & all
members of the church

Purpose:
to explore possible ways of developing ministry
with children and young people where there is
currently none

Course Content:
·        practical ideas of possible ways to start, including schools links, baptism and festivals as opportunities
·        getting the PCC and wider congregation on board
·        good practice when working with children, young people and families
·        recruiting, training and keeping volunteers

Intended Outcomes:
·        to inspire and equip you to begin ministry with children and young people and help you
·        identify possible opportunities to do this across the church’s year and within your community
·        to provide a practical way forward to develop this work and to take other members of the church with you
·        to inform you of good practice in this work and help you to recruit and keep volunteers

Course Leader:  Barbara Meardon, Adviser for Work with Children
Cost: £5.00 per person inc. VAT (Minimum number of delegates: 10)
